The latest book A Humanitarian past – What Antiquity tried to suppress and we shouldn’t is about our early history, while re-examining our cultural heritage, seen through the eyes of archaeologists, anthropologists, mythologists and psychologists. How often today, do we uphold Ancient Greece as the cradle of our present day culture? This raises the question, how did they view their own history and past? Where do their tales of Greeks glorious heroic deeds come from and why? What did the Renaissance hand on to us, in re-telling these stories? Central is how this impacts our lives today, and what studies in social behaviour have to say about how people view their past and how this influences their future conduct?
